Granfondo Colnago 2005

Rules

The Granfondo Colnago is not a competitive race. It is going to be a meeting of cycling lovers in gorgeous scenery, spending a happy day together people can ride at their own pace and enjoy themselves. The Organising Committee are going to take care of every single participant to guarantee that everyone enjoys this experience to the maximum.

By signing the entry form, one declares to own a proper license:

  • to have read the rules and to accept all of them
  • to meet all the requirements
  • to know the details of the event and to be psychologically and physically fit enough to participate
  • to authorise the subjects involved in the event organisation to use personal data, as in the law d. lgs 196/03
  • to respect the rules and the instructions of the Granfondo Colnago management
  • to authorise any legal use, advertising included, of fixed or moving images and recordings taken during his or her participation in the event
to waive and release the organising society, its partners and suppliers, officers and employees of the foregoing, sponsors and partners, from all claims or liabilities of any kind, known or unknown, arising out of my participation in the race and collatteral events
The same holds true for those registering online, by mail or by fax.


1) Meeting place start:

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 2nd, 2007:

PIACENZA-EXPO - Quartiere Fieristico di Piacenza (Piacenza Fair Quarter) - Le Mose - State road 10 29100 Piacenza. Meeting: 7:30 am , starting grid at 8:30 am , START at 9:30 am .

2) Starting grids:

Starting order.

A number in the Merit Grid (Griglia di Merito) will be reserved to the first 100 members; the cyclists at the start will be subdivided as follows:

  • Guests Grid: from no. 1 to no. 100, and assigned by the organizing committee.
  • Merit Grid: from no. 101 to no. 400 : Men and Women Merit grid.
  • First grid from no. 401 to no. 1000: Men and Women
  • Second grid from no. 1001 to no. 1600: Men and Women
  • Third grid from no. 1601 to no. 3000: Men and Women

 

3) Participation

Cycling enthusiasts of both sexes over 18 years old of age can participate, holding Udace-Csain membership cards, or cards from National or foreign Councils (Fci, Uisp, Acli, Aics, Csi, Endas, Cns Libertas or other National Bodies) in compliance with 2007 membership. Amateur cyclists over 16 years of age and cycling enthusiasts over 65 years of age can race only on paths of 125 or 72 km. For underage amateur cyclists, the registration module must be signed by one of the parents.

4) Partecipation fee.

Participation fee.

PROMOTION From March 1st 2007 to May 31st 2007 , 34.00 Euros which includes: “Granfondo Colnago 2007” cyclist jersey, mechanical, medical-health assistance, distress radio call system, refreshments, race package with Colnago gadget, technical and consumption material. From June 1st 2007 , the fee is 39.00 Euros with jersey and race package. The participants will receive the jersey when picking up the race package.

For all athletes that do not want the jersey, registrations open on March 1st 2007 , at 28.00 Euros. Women from March 1 st to August 30 th : the registration fee is 15.00 Euros with no jersey, 26.00 Euros with jersey.

Optional pants 30.00 Euros, in addition to the registration fee, in order to receive pants to match "Granfondo Colnago 2007" jersey together with the race package.
For disabled athletes, there is no registration fee.
Registrations will close on August 30th 2007 or once 2500 members will be registered.

After this date, it will be possible to only register on Saturday, September 1st 2007, from 10 am to 7 pm at Piacenza Expo, with an additional fee of 10.00 Euros, with no possibility to be included in the merit grids, and only if 2,500 registrations have not been reached.



5) Individual and group registrations and payment methods.

Concerning the group registrations, the president of the group will be considered liable for the data presented at the moment of the registrations. The president while presenting the list of the athletes subscribes and accepts all the rules stated in the Colnago’s regulations in charge of each athlete.

6) Membership cards check and race-package distribution.

PIACENZA EXPO - Quartiere Fieristico di Piacenza (Piacenza Fair Quarter) - Le Mose - State road 10 - 29100 PC.

  • Saturday 01/09/07 from 10 am to 7 pm
  • Sunday 02/09/07 from 7:30 am to 8.30 am (only for participants outside the province)
  • The membership card must be presented with a copy of the registration module and payment receipt.
A third person can collect the race pack by showing copy of the entry form. For team entries, the head of the team must present a personal ID and a list of participants from the team, and their license numbers, on headed paper signed by the society president.


7) Control points.

Control points are compulsory at the starting line and along the course. Missing one control point will lead to exclusion from the final rankings. The automated ChampionChip ® system will be used for time keeping. Each athlete will need to carry a personal ChampionChip ® chip in order to be timed and ranked, and must either buy or rent one if they do not have one by the time the race pack is collected. A missing or incorrectly used chip will lead to exclusion from the rankings and, for cyclotourists, will mean their race time is not recorded.

8) Time limit.

165 kilometres course: 8 hours. 120 kilometres course: 7 hours. 70 kilometres course: 5 hours. ). All the athletes passing through the junction between the routes of GranFondo e MedioFondo after 01.00 pm will have to go on through the route of  MedioFondo of Km.120.

9) Individual categories and rankings.

When registering, participants need to indicate which courses they wish to ride and in which of the following categories they want to be included. It is each competitor's duty to verify their own data as published in the official list of participants. After the race, requests of assignment to a different category will not be taken into consideration, unless otherwise decided by the jury.

1. Cadetti (age 19-27) (men and women)
2. Juniores (age 28-32) (men and women)
3. Seniores (age 33-39) (men and women)
4. Veterani (age 40-47) (men and women)
5. Gentlemen (age 48-55) (men and women)
6. Super Gentlemen (age 56-70) (men and women)
7. Women (age 19-39)
8. Women (age 40-70)

Prizes will be awarded to the overall top three for both the men's and women's races, in each of the two courses, and to the top five in every category in each of the two courses. A special OLYMPUS GranPremio della montagna prize will be awarded to the first rider of every category to climb the Passo Santa Barbara in the 165 kilometres course.
Each cyclotourist will be assigned the time elapsed between crossing the starting line and crossing the finish line (Net Time), regardless of the category they belong to.
Final overall and category rankings will be based on the finish order and times as recorded by the automated ChampionChip ® system. In both courses, the first 200 competitors to reach the finish line will be ranked according to the finishing order, and they will be assigned the time elapsed from the official start of the race; the remaining competitors will be ranked based on their Net Time.


10) Team rankings

Final team rankings will be based on the number of entered licensed riders. Prizes will be awarded to the top 15 teams.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 15 teams, with the highest number of athletes registrated without taking into consideration the choice of the route.


11) Prizes.

Technical material and local products. Prizes will be handed out on the day of the race only. By faxing a written request to 0523.457578, to the care of A.S.D. Eventi, prizes can be shipped starting from the following Tuesday and for no more than 30 days after the event. Shipping expenses will be charged.

12) Health assistance.

Several ambulances with medical personnel, first aid stations (one near the finish line), mobile motorbike stations with specialized personnel, and several radio first aid stations will be present along the courses to provide for any needs.

13) Mechanical assistance.

Several fixed assistance stations will be available along the course in addition to mobile assistance provided by car and motorbike. Private cars and motorbikes are strictly forbidden along the courses.

14) Compulsory equipment.

For the entire duration of the race, every competitor must wear a helmet and correctly use the time-keeping chip (not compulsory for cyclotourists); they must show the number on their bike and the personalized back number on the back of their jersey correctly. Each competitor must also carry a puncture repair kit and a full drinks bottle.

15) Insurance.

The event is insured by UDACE, registered riders are protected by an insurance policy. Unregistered riders must not join the race and will be expelled: they can be legally prosecuted in case of accidents.

16) Cycling event.

17) 160 kilometres course.

Piacenza Expo, Gossolengo, Gazzola, Agazzano, Piozzano, San Gabriele, Vidiano (refreshment), Passo Caldarola, Mezzano Scotti, Perino (refreshment), Filippazzi, Gavi, Sant'Agostino, Passo Santa Barbara (refreshment), Pradovera, Aglio, Villanova, Ponte sul Perino, Passo del Cerro, Bettola, Ponte dell'Olio, Bagnolo (refreshment), Rivergaro, Niviano, Quarto, arrival at Piacenza Expo.

18) 120 kilometres course.

Piacenza Expo, Gossolengo, Gazzola, Agazzano, Piozzano, SanGabriele, Vidiano, Passo Caldarola, Mezzano Scotti, Perino, Passo del Cerro, Bettola, Ponte dell'Olio, Bagnolo, Rivergaro, Niviano, Quarto, Piacenza Expo, where refreshments and pasta party will be available to every competitor.

19) 70 kilometres course.

Piacenza Expo, Gossolengo, Gazzola, Momegliano, Rivergaro (Rist.), Bagnolo (Rist.), Rivergaro, Niviano, Quarto, Piacenza Expo where refreshments and pasta party will be available to every competitor.

20) Course selection.

The selection of course made when registering is not final and at the end of the race only the actual course completed will be taken into consideration.

21) Rules.

Everything not detailed in this document comes under the rules of the Commissione Nazionale di Cicloturismo UDACE. A.S.D. eventi, as Granfondo Colnago organising society, declines any responsibility, by itself and its collaborators, for accidents or damages to people or properties happening before, during or after the event or caused by the event itself. Every competitor must follow road traffic regulations as the roads used during the race will be open to traffic. All the athletes which without being registered will take part to the competition before the passage of the car establishing the end of race, will be reported to the competent Authorities.

22) Jury.

Members of the jury are judges appointed by UDACE and judges appointed by the organising committee. Competitors caught in the act of receiving a tow or attempting to shorten the course to gain an advantage, receiving assistance from unauthorised vehicles, or using unsportsmanlike conduct or unsocial behaviour will be subject to penalties prescribed by the law and will not be allowed entry to the event in the future.

23) Appeals.

Appeals must be presented to the jury exclusively as indicated by UDACE rules and after payment of the required fees.

24) Variations.

The organising committee reserves the right to modify the rules at any time.

25) Antidoping.

Any cyclist who has been the subject of antidoping penalties by the relevant bodies will be refused entry into the race.

26) Signature and partecipation to the Race .

By signing the entry form, directly, on line or by fax one declares to own a proper license:

  • to have read the rules and to accept all of them
  • that all the data presented are truthful
  • to meet all the requirements
  • to know the details of the event and to be psychologically and physically fit enough to participate
  • to authorise the subjects involved in the event organisation to use personal data, as in the law n°675, 31/12/1996
  • to authorise any legal use, advertising included, of fixed or moving images and recordings taken during his or her participation in the event
  • to waive and release the organising society, its partners and suppliers, officers and employees of the foregoing, sponsors and partners, from all claims or liabilities of any kind, for every event directly or indirectly connected to his/her participation to the race.

All the athletes registered, with the assignation of a starting number, must follow scrupulously all the rules and prescriptions given by the Direction and the Staff of the race.

Partecipation to the race entails the release of claims or liabilities of any kind towards the organising society for every event directly or indirectly connected to his/her participation to the race.
